Eastern New England Chapter
The Eastern New England Chapter was organized and chartered in June, 2000. At the present time, we have more than sixty members throughout New England and beyond. Normally, we hold monthly meetings of the entire chapter. These meetings are held in the homes of members and at other sites, such as train dealers, public show, museums, and libraries. A meeting will typically consist of a business meeting, an educational presentation or demonstration by one of our members or a guest, and a hands-on workshop session. Other activities may include viewing videos or slides of different railroads in Europe, enjoying the operations of a host’s European model railroad layout, or listening to a guest speaker describe some aspect of European railroading or travel. Most importantly, meetings provide an opportunity to meet, become acquainted, and share information with other individuals who have a mutual interest in our hobby.
We also display our Modular Model Railroad Layout at a number of model railroad shows throughout New England in order to further public awareness of European railroads and model railroading. Our exhibits often include operating layouts in N scale, H0 scale, and 1 scale, and are controlled both conventionally and by computer. Our members contribute their time and share their expertise to help others get started in European model railroading and assist more advanced hobbyists in solving problems.
Chapter meetings are generally held on the third Saturday of each month, except those months where the club participates in a public train show. In those cases, chapter business is conducted either before or after the show. The schedule of up-coming chapter meetings for the New England region can be found on the Events Calendar of the chapter's website or by contacting one of the Chapter leaders..
